When the crispy frost-affected leaves fall, Latvia comes to a period I like to call – the leafless season. A very beautiful time in nature when tree alleys, parks and a large part of forests become transparent. It reveals details that previously could not be seen under the dense foliage. Tree trunks create patterns and shapes that are alike to the drawnings with pencil, waiting for the next “artist” to color them. This year leafless season is taking longer. Although winter officially started on December 22, due to global climate change, it has not yet arrived in Latvia …
